Our Educational Climate

Six Nations Polytechnic is committed to:

  • Being sensitive and mindful of traditional cultural ways, including the role of spirituality, as it relates to appropriate uses of local knowledge;
  • Providing an opportunity for students to learn in and/or about the Hodinohso:ni Rotinonhshonni culture and languages;
  • Having a high level of involvement of professional administrative and teaching staff that are of the same cultural background as the students with whom they are working; and
  • Incorporating traditional values into course content and delivery to strengthen an individual's concept of responsibility and personal pride.

Six Nations Polytechnic offers;

  • Cultural advisors to support the work of the students and others in their pursuit of knowledge.
  • A comfortable, safe and respectful learning and working environment.
  • An Administration staff and faculty knowledgeable about the cultural identity of the Six Nations people and sensitive, compassionate, friendly and understanding of individual student needs.
  • Policies and Procedures that reflect the cultural norms of the Six Nations community.
  • AND, A Board of Directors that is committed to a balanced view, eager to share their expertise and are actively involved in building an institution that is an integral part of the Six Nations community.
