Message from the Chief Executive Director

Mike

Six Nations Polytechnic has been in operation since 1993. For more than a decade we have continued to grow and develop keeping in mind the success of students. We are now able to track the students as they have completed their degrees, diplomas and postgraduate work.

Those students are now lawyers, doctors, mid wives, teachers, social workers, early child educators, computer technicians, economic development officers, geographical information systems analysts, administrative assistants, paramedics, personal support workers, educational assistants and others have started their own businesses. We have had much to celebrate over these past years.

When Aboriginal communities are empowered to offer community-based programs, the outcome and success rate of students rises. Students are exposed to Aboriginal role models as instructors and an all aboriginal administration staff. Students also can interact with grandmothers, grandfathers, traditional ceremonial knowledge keepers.

The Six Nations Polytechnic staff is a very dedicated and hard working team. They strive to provide a post secondary learning environment that promotes success to all those who choose to attend. Student success is our success and we will continue to develop and grow to meet the post secondary and training needs in a culturally appropriate manner.

Having said this, we will continue to develop partnerships, open doors and create opportunities for our students to have access to the kind of education that will promote and enhance their quality of life.
