Six Nations Polytechnic Shifting to virtual learning and remote work

As we look forward to the new year and a return to learning, we continue to be mindful of the ongoing impacts of COVID-19. The recent introduction of the Omicron variant presents us with an uncertain outlook for the coming weeks and is a source of rising concern.

We remain committed to protecting the health and well-being of our staff, students, and educational community and have taken the proactive approach to limit our on-site population and activities as much as possible. This includes the following operational modifications:

SNP STEAM Academy - staff and students will work and learn virtually for the week of January 3-7, 2022 University and Lifelong learning programming (Six Nations Campus) - all programming will continue to be

delivered virtually. Classes begin on January 5th.

Trades and Pre-Apprenticeship students – Pre-apprenticeship classes will be virtual starting January 4th -7th, 2022. Construction Techniques will begin, virtually, on January 5th. The week of January 10th, 2022, theory classes will remain virtual and pre-scheduled shop classes will start back on campus.

College students - programs will be delivered virtually for the month of January beginning on January 5th. Pre-scheduled on-site Health Services labs will start the week of January 10, 2022.

Staff - starting December 20, 2021, any staff that can work from home should do so. Campus access will be available on a limited basis to; those with essential on-site functions, those with workspace/internet challenges, and instructors with on-site programming.

Vaccination and Booster shots - The province continues to stress the importance of vaccination and booster shots as our best means of protection against COVID-19. Starting December 20, 2021, everyone 18+ years of age is eligible for a booster shot three months after their second dose.
