This conference explores the inseparable relationship between Indigenous languages, the land, and the continuation of Indigenous knowledge systems. This event is for both learning and sharing, together.
Bringing together language speakers, knowledge holders, educators, scholars, and community practitioners, the conference centers Indigenous perspectives on the interconnectedness of language, environment, and us as Ogwehoweh people. Sessions will share language revitalization as a form of environmental stewardship, intergenerational knowledge transmission, and cultural resurgence.
Through presentations and dialogue, participants will learn and collectively discuss how strengthening Indigenous languages supports sustainable futures, community well-being, and renewed relationships with the natural world. This gathering invites participants to reflect on and explore how the future of Indigenous knowledge depends on restoring and honouring the deep connections between language, land, and responsibility.
