Rebecca Jamieson, SNP President and CEO will be stepping away from her role on December 31, 2025. The SNP Board has appointed Rick Anderson, PhD, Interim President effective January 1, 2026.
Rebecca was part of the group of community leaders who, in 1992, developed the concept of a community-based place of lifelong learning that became Six Nations Polytechnic. Rebecca’s contributions to SNP continued throughout the years as a Board member and advisor until 2009 when Rebecca accepted the duties of President & CEO.
While always acknowledging those who have come before and those who have contributed to SNP’s development over the years, the SNP learning community proudly acknowledges that SNP has developed into a centre of excellence focused on Hodinohsó:ni’ history, knowledge, and languages with Rebecca’s leadership.
For example, SNP is the only Indigenous owned and governed place of lifelong learning in Canada to offer accredited degrees in Ogwehoweh languages. In addition, SNP offers programs, across two campuses, that provide pathways for learners to engage in a range of careers in health, community services, and the trades.
Rebecca also contributes locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally to Indigenous controlled and quality-assured education and training.
Acknowledgements of Rebecca’s contributions include honorary doctorates from Western University and Laurier University, Honorary Applied Degree from Niagara College, Six Nations Community Treasure, Dreamcatcher Foundation Education Award, David Baxter Memorial for Outstanding Individual Achievement, Order of Ontario and the Order of Canada.
During Rebecca’s tenure, SNP has remained mindful of our founding purpose and remained guided by Hodinohsó:ni’ Values of Ga’nigǫ̱hi:yo: / Kanikoriio.
“It has been an honour and privilege to work with so many visionary and dedicated people throughout my association with SNP. Seeing the positive impacts of SNP graduates in our community and their chosen professions is the best reward one can hope for. I consider myself fortunate to have contributed to a better future for all who share this land. I extend my sincere support and encouragement to those who will carry this important work forward.”
Rebecca Jamieson, President & CEO, Six Nations Polytechnic
The SNP Board, staff, and learning community extend our most sincere thank you to Rebecca for her many contributions and wish her well in her journey ahead. In addition to the role of President Emeritus, Rebecca has agreed to stay connected to SNP in 2026 as SNP’s first External Executive Liaison.
